A new app has just been launched for iOS devices, which allows parents to read bedtime stories to their children, without having to be there. We take it this is for parents who are away on business, not just those sitting in the pub with a pint of Special Brew and some pork scratchings.
Essentially it allows children to read interactive nursery books on an iPad, and the parent can read them aloud into an iPhone, seeing where the child is up to, and have their speech come out of the iPad's speakers.
It's an incredibly simple concept which utilises the latest technology to allow an age-old practice to be carried out when the two parties are a world apart. It also comes with completely hand-drawn illustrations, depicting some of the most well-loved nursery rhymes. Check out the design process here.
You can grab it from the iTunes store for $3.99
